Last Saturday I kind of left you guys hanging. Sorry about that. Lately I have been really tired. Like, ready for bed at 10pm tired. That is NOT like me. Tuesday night I actually fell asleep from 11pm-midnight, woke up for about ten minutes to shut off my computer, then went back to bed and slept until almost 11am Wednesday morning! I'm thinking the sudden desire to sleep so much is from something stressful Dan and I have had hanging over our heads. I've been worrying about it for weeks, and now that it's suddenly resolved and gone we can all breathe a big sigh of relief, and I'm no longer running on nerves (seriously, for the last three weeks I've been getting an average of 5-6 hours sleep per night!), my body is just ready to crash and crash HARD. Which I did. Two nights in a row.
So, Saturday. We went to this adorable farm that has all these outdoor activities, including a hay ride (didn't do it because there's no way Ryan would cooperate for that) and a huge maze (didn't do that either, because we were running out of time and Ryan was starting to throw a fit). We did a huge built-into-a-hill slide, obstacle course for the kids, enclosed area with a huge ball rolling around in it, stopped by a small playground area for Alyssa and Ryan, had lunch, did some slingshots, and went to a petting zoo. Alyssa loved it all (she cried when we left), and Ryan was happy as long as we kept moving along and kept the stroller going along.
I haven't been up to too much lately. Alyssa decided she wanted to stay over at my mom's house on Saturday night. Then she decided she wanted to stay Sunday night, then Monday night and then Tuesday night! I went over to pick her up on Monday night and again on Tuesday night, and both times she tells me, "No Mommy, I want to stay at Ma-mom's house!" Well, alrighty then!
Don't get me wrong, I missed my little Lissy girl, but it was definitely quieter without her, and Ryan loved having me all to himself for several days in a row. ♥ I also got a lot more work done!
All right, it's late, and Alyssa and Ryan will be up by 10, so I'm going to bed!
One of the highlights of being a mommy blogger and thus reaching out to a highly coveted group of consumers (hi fellow mommies!) is getting products to review and share [my opinions of them] with you guys. Right now I'm checking out Nurturing Beauty and their line of natural souffles.
I first got the opportunity to try a body souffle last December. It was peppermint scented and felt divine, so I couldn't wait to dive right into Nurturing Beauty's Lemon Drop Souffle. I've put it on a few times now, and I have three comments to make about it so far:
- A bit greasy during initial application, but it does absorb within minutes
- It smells wonderful!
- My hands, feet and neck feel incredibly smooth after rubbing the souffle in
Of course, the adorable packaging the souffle arrived in is always nice too:
Nurturing Beauty carries souffles in a few other scents as well: mango, pearberry, cupcakes, and one I'd really love to try, lavender vanilla. In addition to the souffles, Nurturing Beauty also has a full line of body butters, soaps, sugar scrubs, hair products and gift sets.
All of Nurturing Beauty's products are made from natural ingredients. The souffles in particular contain 98% of natural ingredients.

Last Thursday evening I took Alyssa to the mall. We met up with my friend Jason, and the three of us went shopping for shoes (sandals for him, sneakers for Alyssa), a cheap UV filter for my second camera lens, and two books from Borders (I think I can officially declare myself a fan of Phillipa Gregory!). Before we left I stopped by the Piercing Pagoda (I know, bad Jenn) and got fifth lobe piercings done in each ear. Amazingly, they don't hurt at all! Oh, there was the brief pinch when they were initially done, and my ear lobes felt hot afterward, but the typical sore/itchy healing period hasn't come at all. I guess I got lucky. In the past, the subsequent lobe piercings (second, third, fourth) were always more sore and itchy during healing than the cartilage piercings.
I think I want to get one more piercing done in my ears, and then I'll be out of room... unless I consider a tragus piercing. Does anyone have one? How badly do they hurt to get done? What's the healing like?
"John McCain does not believe in prescriptive regulation like “net-neutrality,” but rather he believes that an open marketplace with a variety of consumer choices is the best deterrent against unfair practices."
"It needs to stay that way. Barack Obama strongly supports the principle of network neutrality to preserve the benefits of open competition on the Internet. "
Since picking up twitter and through the use of a couple different applications finding it can update my facebook status from a desktop widgit, I've been wondering if I could have my facebook profile updated when I post to Vox. See, I don't really like going to facebook, it's cluttered and slow and buggy and annoys me when I go there, so I don't very often, but all my real-life friends frequent there and since I started twittering onto my facebook people have noticed, so now I'm trying a new app there to see if my vox blogs post there directly. I'm wondering how it will work so this will be my first attempt.
